Celebrating 50 years of the Portuguese Farmers Confederation

For five decades, the Confederação dos Agricultores de Portugal (CAP) has represented the interests of Portuguese farmers, producers and the rural world.

Founded in 1975, CAP has grown into Portugal’s leading agricultural socio-professional organisation, bringing together around 250 farmers’ organisations and maintaining an active presence both in Portugal and Brussels.

In 2025, CAP marked this milestone with a programme of activities in Brussels — including institutional meetings, a public conference at the European Parliament and, at the end of the day, a celebratory reception. An evening to raise a glass to 50 years of Portuguese agriculture, representation, dialogue and European engagement.
